Dear St Hilda Family,
It is hard to believe that it is June! September seems so long ago, yet I vividly remember reading through all the COVID protocols and rules as we got ready for your children! Like you, the staff at St. Hilda all were optimistic that COVID would be done by now. We faced many challenges and I think that students, staff, and families preserved.
Despite the difficulties, we witnessed much growth in the students: spiritually, physically, and academically. It was a subdued year due to many activities be cancelled yet, when the students were attending in person, there was a definite energy that is in the building. We really missed having them when they were at home. The St. Hilda Staff do really care about our students!
With the year quickly coming to an end, it is also time to say farewell to our grade nine students. They have completed another step on their academic journey. It is amazing to see 12-year-olds mature and develop into young adults over the course of three years. One can see the sense of direction and focus starting to really develop in our grade nines as they prepare for their last year years of school! We wish them the best and we know that by keeping God in their hearts, and persevering to be the best, that they can, they will have lifetimes of fulfillment! Sadly, due the pandemic we are unable to host an in-person farewell for our grade nines, but a virtual farewell will be available on June 24th. Check our website as we will share information on how to view it soon.
Lastly, even though it is June, we ask that you please remind your children to continue to work hard and study. We are having final exams starting with an ELA exam, on June 2nd, and the other exams starting on June 16th. Students are still expected to be in class in between those dates. For more detailed and up to date information, please check our school website on a regular basis!
Sincerely,
Mike Spadafora
